Musculoskeletal Disorders Cause

A graduate of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School currently known now as the Rutgers Medical School, Dr. James Morales is an experienced physician with over 20 years of clinical practice in sports medicine. He currently serves as the medical director of Rock Doc NJ and VIP Wellness. At VIP Wellness, Dr. James Morales oversees patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

Musculoskeletal disorders are a serious threat in the United States and are the most encountered workplace injuries. About 30 percent of all workers’ compensation costs are caused by musculoskeletal disorders that happen at the workplace. MSDs affect body movement and the musculoskeletal systems and some of the most common conditions are tendonitis, ligament sprain, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Musculoskeletal disorders typically happen when people have to do work that's outside of their body capabilities for a long period of time.

Repetitive awkward postures and high task repetitions with a cycle time of fewer than 30 seconds can lead up to MSD if the body of a worker is not well prepared or the work is not suited to their capabilities.
